Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

vessel examination
finds documents containing 'vessel' or 'examination'

vessel or examination
same as above

vessel and examination
finds documents containing both 'vessel' and 'examination'

vessel not examination
finds documents containing 'vessel' but not 'examination'

(vessel not examination) and station
finds documents containing 'examination', plus 'vessel' but not 'examination'

test*
finds documents containing words starting with 'test'
